AN INNOVATIVE APPROACH TO DEVELOPMENT

To achieve our goals of creating the most extraordinary vacation and entertainment experiences, Grupo Vidanta controls every aspect of its developments, including creating and operating its own internal construction group.

To date, the company has built a variety of luxury resort hotel brands and a number of mega-resort-style vacation destinations in Mexico. The construction group has also developed over 2,000 vacation homes and an international airport. The group is continually recognized for the amazing quantity of properties that it develops in a given year.

In addition to hotels, the group also builds all of the restaurants, bars, entertainment centers, spas, pools, walkways, lakes, roads, and other infrastructure at its resorts. Its hotel brands include The Estates, Grand Luxxe, The Grand Bliss, The Grand Mayan, The Bliss, Mayan Palace, Sea Garden, and Ocean Breeze. Its real estate brands include Mayan Island, Mayan Lakes, Central Park, La Jolla de Cortés, and La Jolla de Los Cabos.

In collaboration with Cirque du Soleil, the Grupo Vidanta construction team created the Cirque du Soleil Theater at Vidanta Riviera Maya, which houses Cirque du Soleil JOYÀ. The theater is a marvel of contemporary architecture and innovative sustainable building techniques that helped to protect the Mayan jungle and surrounding ecosystems.

GREEN BUILDING PRACTICES AT WORK

Vidanta Theater at Vidanta Riviera Maya

All of Grupo Vidanta’s developments and construction practices reflect a green philosophy and employ sustainable building practices from the planning stage to project execution. Vidanta Theater at Vidanta Riviera Maya exemplifies the company’s commitment to environmental protection. The theater—recipient of Obras Magazine Building Project of 2015 Award—garnered recognition for its revolutionary design and pristine landscaping, as well as the extreme dedication to ecological preservation throughout its development and construction process.

Eco-Conscious Practices for the Vidanta Theater

  • 80% of the land surrounding the theater was preserved as raw jungle.
  • The remaining area was conserved with care: every plant affected by construction or development was rescued, relocated, and replanted elsewhere, along with hundreds of new trees.
  • The eco-friendly materials used in the construction of the theater echo Grupo Vidanta’s commitment to environmental responsibility.
  • Local woods were used for every decoration and pergola on the grounds.
  • The roads and parking lots around the theater were built entirely from 100% permeable ecological concrete, ensuring the the local watershed was minimally affected.
