Paraíso del Mar (Sea Paradise) was the second hotel built in the early history of the corporation and was erected in Mazatlán, México. Construction of this resort began in 1979. The resort inaugurated almost two years later, opening its doors to the public on June 15th 1980. The combination of Paraíso del Mar and its predecessor Paraíso Mazatlan, was the foundation of the hotel and resort division that helped catalyze the demand for vacation ownership in México.
