Fundación Grupo Vidanta

 
 

In 2005, Grupo Vidanta founded Fundación Grupo Vidanta, formerly known as Fundación Grupo Mayan. Fundación Grupo Vidanta's mission is to promote culture and science. In 2005, it held a conference in Buenos Aires Argentina to discuss the development gap between the United States of America and Latin America. Some recognized speakers in the event included Tulio Halperín Donghi, Francis Fukuyama, Enrique Krauze, Celso Lafer, Julio María Sanguinetti, Hernando de Soto and Ernesto Zedillo. The papers discussed during the Conference were published in a book edited by Francis Fukuyama (Falling Behind, Oxford University Press, Oxford/New York, 2008)


In 2007, Fundación Grupo Vidanta held a conference in Mexico City to discuss main international opportunities for Latin America as well as new world and regional challenges for the continent. Famous speakers included Erik Hobsbawm, José Miguel Insulza, Ricardo Lagos, Javier Solana and Mario Vargas Llosa. Papers presented at the Conference were published in a book edited by president Ricardo Lagos (América Latina: ¿integración o fragmentación?, Edhasa, Buenos Aires, 2008)
